How To Send Your Photos to Data Shine
for Restoration and Editing

1. Preparing Your Image
Data Shine can work with almost any available image format. An exception may be some proprietary digital camera RAW files, which would first need to be converted to either TIFF or JPEG formats.
Scanned images (from a Desktop Scanner) of a photo or images from a Slide Scanner should also be saved as high resolution JPEG or TIFF images (high quality, minimal compression). |

Any files under 5Mb in size may be attached to an email (just check that your own mailbox and ISP allows that capacity). Larger files may need to be uploaded directly to the Data Shine server. If in doubt email Data Shine first. |

2. Email a COPY of Your Image to Data Shine
Please send only a COPY of the image requiring Photographic Restoration, Retouching, Editing or Preparation for use as Artwork to Data Shine for evaluation. A response to your request is likely within 24 hours.

3. Sending Hard Copy Images (Printed Photos)
Though digital photographic images are preferred, Data Shine will accept Hard Copy original photographic images under the following conditions:
- Original Hard Copy (printed photographic images) will generally only be accepted from customers within Australia - exceptions may be considered
- That the customer (and/or sender) assumes full responsibility for the photographs, including shipping cost, transit, insurance, damage and/or loss at all times
- That a reasonable amount of time is allowed for the completion of work, which includes time likely to be spent in transit through postal or courier services
- It is strongly advised that wherever possible only copies are sent.

4. Sending Digital Images on CD, DVD or other Digital Media
If you have a very large file (e.g. Scanned Image), several files or a collection of photos stored on digital media that you would like to have edited, Data Shine will accept images on digital media under the following conditions:
- The digital media must be compatible with the Windows® operating system
- That the customer (and/or sender) assumes full responsibility for the digital media including shipping cost, transit, insurance, damage and/or loss at all times
- That a reasonable amount of time is allowed for the completion of work, which includes time likely to be spent in transit through postal or courier services
- It is strongly advised that wherever possible only copies are sent.

5. What You Get
Images will be processed and returned in the digital format in which they were provided (e.g. RGB or CMYK), unless otherwise specified. Data Shine will test print all images (at a size up to A4 or 8" x 10") to ensure optimal image quality.
Hard Copy Prints
Data Shine can also provide customers with 2400dpi Photo Quality Inkjet hard copy prints, up to A4 (8 x 10) in size and printed edge to edge, on Archive Quality Kodak paper (rated for 100 years) for a small additional cost plus shipping. These are truly exceptional quality prints for those who don't have a printer up to the job or don't want the hassle of going to a photo lab. |

|
PAYMENT OPTIONS:
- Major Credit Cards via PayPal
- EFT (Bank to Bank deposit via Electronic Funds Transfer accepted)
- Sorry, no personal cheques will be accepted!

QUOTATIONS:
- Quotations will NOT be offered until the customer provides an example of the image(s) requiring editing ... See the examples for cost estimates.
- Quotations are provided free of charge
- A quotation for requested Services will be provided (usually within 24 hours) after reciept of the image (or suitable digital sample) requiring editing
- All work quoted at or above USD$90 will require a 50% (fifty percent) Deposit prior to commencement
- All quotations are firm for 30 days only, but will remain valid until the completion of work once work has commenced.
- All quotations will be provided in either US or Australian Dollars
- All quotations and prices within Australia will include GST
- Upon the acceptance of a quotation and the commencement of work, the client agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions of Trade

Changes To Quotations:
- Further changes (edits) may be requested by the customer at any time, but may require an updated quotation
- Further work may proceed once any outstanding Service fees have been paid
|
|
|
On Completion of Work:
- One or more digital sample images will be provided for the customer's inspection and approval.
- After payment of outstanding amounts, high resolution final images will be released to the customer.
- Payment in full for services rendered will be expected within 7 days from date of completion.

|
As a Service to Customers:
Unless specifically requested by the customer, digital images will be encrypted then archived to DVD and stored at Data Shine. If the customer specifically requests that images not be stored in this manner, they will be deleted within 7 days of completion. |

Data Shine Ethics:
Data Shine reserves the right of service refusal where the material provided by the client may be deemed to be of a blatantly offensive, obscene, discriminatory and/or be potentially illegal in nature. The client accepts full responsibility for insuring that any materials provided to Data Shine for editing do not breach any copyright or other applicable laws, either Australian or (for international customers) from the originating country. |

Privacy Policy:
No images sent to Data Shine for editing by customers will be made available to any other party, in any form (physical or digital), without the prior written consent of the customer. Data Shine does not gather email and/or other customer information for resale or distribution!
